Continuity of Offender Treatment for Substance Abuse Disorders-From Institution Back to the Community

Continuity of Offender Treatment for Substance Abuse Disorders: From Institution Back to the Community - 8 CEUs

This six (6) learning module, eight (8) CEU online course is based on the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment recommendations to assist incarcerated criminal offenders to make a successful transition back into their community.

Historically, there has been little or no continuity of care for offenders returning to their community which has resulted in relapse and re-offending. This course discusses the benefits of: offender treatment, importance of continuity treatment, the transition planning process, guidelines for community programs, confidentiality issues, ancillary services, special populations including women, the elderly, the developmentally disabled, and sexual offenders and much more.

The PDF text includes for your downloading a number of useful instruments you may find useful in your practice setting including: Substance Use Survey (SUS), Adolescent Self Assessment Profile (ASAP), Substance Use Disorder Program Summary Form, and Transition Plan Form.
